Services

Three things, done properly

I

Bookkeeping

Monthly close, bank and account reconciliation, and reports your CPA can work from without a cleanup bill.

II

Payroll

Each run coordinated with your payroll provider and booked to the ledger, so their reports and your books agree — including the Rhode Island items out-of-state providers get wrong.

III

Office Operations

Vendor payments, deposit tracking, and the recurring administrative work that keeps an office running.

Who we work with

A specialty, and everything else

Real estate brokerages

Gross commission arrives at closing and most of it is owed straight back out. That needs commission disbursement runs on a fixed schedule, per-agent split and cap tracking that survives a question about a check from eight months ago, and every agent 1099 ready in December rather than assembled in January.

Brokerage bookkeeping

Every other small business

Reconciliations, payroll, the monthly close, and a year-end file your CPA can work from — whatever the trade. With particular depth where the bookkeeping hides obligations: practices holding client funds and paying owners in draws rather than payroll, and landlords with mortgages, deposits, and improvements that get booked wrong.

Automation for the work that repeats

Some of the monthly work has a right answer every time — the same documents pulled from the same inbox, the same vendors coded the same way, the same report rebuilt from the same accounts. That part is worth automating, and we build it around the system you already run, including QuickBooks Online.

Service area

All of Rhode Island

The monthly work — categorizing, reconciling, payroll, the close, the reporting — runs remotely. Where you sit in the state doesn't change the service, the schedule, or the price.

The work runs in whatever system the business already has, so handover, monthly reporting, and the questions that come up in between happen without anyone needing to drive anywhere.

Plain Answers

Questions we actually get asked

What does a bookkeeper cost in Rhode Island?

It depends on the work, not the size of the business — transaction volume, how many accounts need reconciling, whether there is payroll, and what condition the books are in. We work on a flat monthly retainer, quoted after reviewing your books, with no hourly surprises.

What drives the price →

Do you replace my CPA?

No — we complement one. Your CPA handles tax strategy and filings; we keep the books clean all year so their work is faster and less expensive. Most CPAs prefer clients who have a dedicated bookkeeper.

Bookkeeper vs. CPA, in detail →

Can you handle agent commission payouts?

Yes. Disbursement cycles, split calculations, and agent 1099s are the core of our brokerage service — splits verified against the closing statement before each run.

What software do you work in?

Yours. Brokerages are usually on a back-office platform like Lone Wolf; most other businesses are on QuickBooks Online. Your payroll platform stays too. Changing software is a separate decision, never a condition of working together.

Do you handle Rhode Island payroll taxes?

We coordinate payroll rather than file it. Your payroll provider prepares and files the returns; we coordinate each run, book wages, withholding and employer taxes to the ledger, and reconcile the provider's filings against your books so the two agree — including the RI items out-of-state providers get wrong: SUTA with the Job Development Fund assessment, and employee-funded TDI/TCI.
